The man who established Nilfisk-Advance, P.A. Fisker, began as an electrical engineer who liked to work on electrical motors. After establishing his company in 1906, he started to produce motors to drive fans, machine tools, drills and coffee grinders. Mr. Fisker's dream from the start was to own an international business selling goods worldwide.

The Nilfisk C1 was a tremendous breakthrough for the cleaning trade. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed just 17.5 kilos and could be operated by a single person. This invention came in a time where various cleaning machines were very big and needed at least 4 operators, therefore, the Nilfisk C1 changed everything and evolved the method we clean forever. The genius behind these very first cleaning machines remains unparalleled. Cleaning machines provide a brilliant solution to an ongoing crisis; stuff get filthy and need to be cleaned on a regular basis, without a lot of effort.

Slowly, the business Nilfisk-Advance expanded throughout the years. In the the early part of the 1980's the company expanded more rapidly when the business became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they focused on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the business, trying to be an active international player in producing professional cleaning machines. Nilfisk-Advance is presently located in all parts of the globe due to gradually acquiring many smaller companies to be able to expand their product selection and presence in new markets.
